We have an exciting update to share.

Here at FRSD we are passionate about the roles that our service dogs in training can play in the life of a person with PTSD. We are actively looking for the right match for Hickory. If you are interested in applying for one of our dogs please go to our website and fill out an application.

We are also passionate about building a strong program that has relationships that allow us to bring in dogs from health tested backgrounds and ones that have proved their train ability through various pursuits including conformation, obedience, rally, etc.

We are passionate about finding the “spark” in every dog. What makes them happy. This is why we recently, after much consideration, made the decision to career-change Foxy and we are thrilled that she is now going to be living with her puppy raiser. We want the very best for each dog part of that commitment is listening to the signs that service work is not part of what is in their best interest. For anyone that has seen an incredible service dog out there, working, loving their job, please consider sharing that story here, in the comments, resharing this post and sharing your story, or tagging others to share what meaningful work they’ve seen dogs do, even if it hasn’t been service work.

We are incredibly grateful and proud to share that Davie finished his AKC Championship last weekend at 19 months of age.

Davie is related to a couple of our FRSD dogs. Davie is Lizzie’s brother. Lizzie chose to pursue pet life and provides endless love and support to her family, however, we see in her the potential to become a support to people in the community with continued practice. Davie is also a half-sibling to our the first girl to join FRSD, and our foundation breeding girl, Aspen who we are also thrilled to announce has passed her genetic clearances, hip, elbow, eye, shoulder, and other medical screenings to ensure that she is a good candidate.

🎉 Drumroll, FRSD community! 🌟 We’re thrilled to introduce our newest family member, the charming black Lab, Hickory! 🍃 His name aligns seamlessly with our Foliage theme, and we’re beyond excited for you to get to know him.

Hickory, raised exceptionally by his puppy raisers and the organization before us, is gearing up for placement later this year.

At FRSD, our values revolve around ensuring each dog loves their job, stays healthy, and has their needs met. Finding the perfect match is crucial. We’re on the lookout for the ideal candidate to welcome Hickory into their life. Matching skills, passions, learning styles, and more – it’s a detailed process.

A heartfelt thank you to the organization that entrusted us with Hickory, @actsdogs . Your support and trust mean the world to us. Here at FRSD our mission is to assist individuals with PTSD, and Hickory is a wonderful addition to the FRSD family.

🐾 Exciting news, FRSD community! 🌟 After a brief hiatus, we’re thrilled to share a significant update. Following our alphabetical tradition, you might have noticed that we skipped the letter H when naming Indie during our November fundraiser.

Well, the wait is over! We’re introducing our newest addition, a lovable black Lab, continuing the alphabetical order. His name starts with an H, aligning seamlessly with our Foliage theme and adding a touch of destiny to his arrival.

Remember Indie, the golden retriever introduced in November? Remember how we mentioned that your support over Giving Tuesday was going to allow us to add two new dogs? Now, it’s time to extend a warm welcome to our black Lab companion.
